The Ford Mustang Mach-E (built after August 2024) has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The S6 e-tron has not yet been evaluated by the IIHS for 2025.

Ford’s powertrain warranty covers the Mustang Mach-E 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Audi covers the S6 e-tron. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the S6 e-tron ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 9 times as many Ford dealers as there are Audi dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Mustang Mach-E’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Ford vehicles are better in initial quality than Audi vehicles. With 76 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Ford higher than Audi.

The Mustang Mach-E stops much shorter than the S6 e-tron:

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Mustang Mach-E Select/Premium’s wheelbase is 1.4 inches longer than on the S6 e-tron (117.5 inches vs. 116.1 inches). The Mustang Mach-E GT’s wheelbase is 1.9 inches longer than on the S6 e-tron (118 inches vs. 116.1 inches).

For better maneuverability, the Mustang Mach-E’s turning circle is 2.3 feet tighter than the S6 e-tron’s (38.1 feet vs. 40.4 feet).

The Ford Mustang Mach-E may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 300 to 850 pounds less than the Audi S6 e-tron.

The Mustang Mach-E Select/Premium is 8.4 inches shorter than the S6 e-tron, making the Mustang Mach-E easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Mustang Mach-E has 3.1 cubic feet more passenger volume than the S6 e-tron (101.1 vs. 98).

The Mustang Mach-E has .4 inches more front headroom, 2.3 inches more front legroom, .6 inches more rear headroom and 2.9 inches more rear legroom than the S6 e-tron.

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Mustang Mach-E’s exterior PIN entry system. The S6 e-tron doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system, and its Audi Connect Care can’t unlock the doors if the vehicle doesn’t have cell phone reception or the driver can’t contact the service.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Mustang Mach-E has a standard rear wiper. The S6 e-tron doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

The Mustang Mach-E is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the S6 e-tron, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Mustang Mach-E offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the S6 e-tron.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Mustang Mach-E equipped with available HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The S6 e-tron, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Ford Mustang Mach-E empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.

The Mustang Mach-E is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The S6 e-tron doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
