The Mustang GTD has standard Pre-Collision Assist, which use forward mounted sensors to warn the driver of a possible collision ahead. If the driver doesn’t react and the system determines a collision is imminent, it automatically applies the brakes at full-force in order to reduce the force of the crash or avoid it altogether. The Artura doesn't offer collision warning or crash mitigation brakes.

The Mustang GTD has standard Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The Artura doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Mustang GTD’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Artura.

The Mustang GTD’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Artura doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

The Mustang GTD has standard 911 Assist, which uses a global positioning satellite (GPS) receiver and a cellular system to remotely unlock your doors if you lock your keys in, help track down your vehicle if it’s stolen or send emergency personnel to the scene if any airbags deploy. The Artura doesn’t offer a GPS response system, only a navigation computer with no live response for emergencies, so if you’re involved in an accident and you’re incapacitated help may not come as quickly.

Both the Mustang GTD and the Artura have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, daytime running lights and rearview cameras.

The Ford Mustang GTD weighs 904 to 1040 pounds more than the McLaren Artura. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Ford’s powertrain warranty covers the Mustang GTD 15000 miles longer than McLaren covers the Artura. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Artura ends after only 5 years or 45000 miles.

The Mustang GTD has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The Mustang GTD has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The Artura doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

The Mustang GTD’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Artura does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Mustang GTD’s standard Intelligent Access allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Entry and Lock standard on the Artura doesn’t offer a sensor on the trunk.

The Mustang GTD’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Artura’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Mustang GTD has standard extendable sun visors. The Artura doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Mustang GTD’s sun-visors swivel front-to-side to block glare from the side windows. The Artura’s visors are fixed into the windshield header.

The Mustang GTD’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Artura’s power mirror controls are on the dash where they are possibly hidden by the steering wheel and are awkward to manipulate.

To help keep the driver’s hands on the wheel, the Mustang GTD has standard steering wheel controls for the radio. The Artura doesn’t offer steering wheel audio controls.

The Ford Mustang GTD has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the driver’s visor. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. McLaren charges extra for Homelink® on the Artura.

The Mustang GTD is equipped with both FM and AM stereo radios, offering access to more content and better coverage than the Artura, which solely provides FM radio. With AM radio, you can enjoy a wider variety of stations featuring news, talk shows, sports commentary, native language programing, automated traffic guidance, and emergency broadcasts. AM waves travel further and penetrate buildings and obstacles more effectively than FM signals, especially at night. Having both FM and AM stereo radios the Mustang GTD offers a more comprehensive listening experience compared to only FM in the Artura.

HD Radio boasts several benefits over conventional radio: superior sound quality with clearer and consistent FM broadcasts, CD-quality audio, and Multicast Channels offering up to four streams from a single station, adding programming choices. Cars like the Mustang GTD equipped with HD Radio provide an improved in-car entertainment experience. The Artura, devoid of this technology, foregoes these benefits. Selecting the Ford Mustang GTD empowers drivers to enjoy a more immersive and enjoyable listening experience while on the go.
